Who we are

A mothnest, that’s what we are! But for the purposes of this page, mothnest is a blog-sort of a website of creative expressions. Ideally of all kinds, from visual arts to poetry. While this is at least the wish of the main proprietor Moth Prime, the bulk of the content might be works of prose as it was the original idea behind this website. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. This is done automatically and without administrator involvement. No personal data will be shown or manually stored, except contents of a comment itself and what the user itself types into the boxes.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

As a website of artistic expressions, mothnest cherishes and encourages human creativity. However and sadly, some form(s) of automated tools had to be utilized to make this website possible. While ‘Visual Arts’ is certainly a mothnest category, authors may choose to use artificially-generated imagery in their essentially NON-VISUAL works. But even then it is only considered as a last resort, as the internet is abundant with royalty-free photography that almost always get a better job done.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year and are stored automatically. No real person on our end has access to the contents of such cookies.

Currently, as the website is not capitalized upon, there are no cookies utilized for monetizing purposes.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment itself and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Currently, there is no registration or membership on mothnest itself. However, such methods related to WordPress, and terms and conditions of their data use is reserved for WordPress and not mothnest.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service as previously mentioned. Thank you for taking the time to visit our webpage.
